OCN is an awarding body in the UK that accredits courses. They provide validated courses through recognised training providers that meet their robust quality assurance standards. Somerset Skills & Learning are a recognised training provider of OCN courses.
For learners from outside the UK, attainment of an OCN qualification provides a way of ensuring that their course and qualification has been standarised and externally monitored for quality.
The information on this website, provides an insight into the online Shibashi Instructor Course for OCN Level 2 & 3 & REP's Advanced candidates
This course has been running for a number of years and current students include cardiac nurses, complementary therapists, exercise instructors, occupational therapists, mental health nurses and Tai Chi instructors.
What is Shibashi?
Shibashi is a style of Qigong that uses some of the best postures/movements from Tai Chi - That's why it's full name is Tai Chi Qigong Shibashi. It is a set of 18 repetative and gentle movements that can be performed standing or sitting.
Shibashi is easy to learn and can be performed by anyone, whatever your age. It is especially suited for older people or those with restricted mobilty as it can be adapted -that's why it's great for health classes.

Once you have gained the OCN qualification, you'll be well equipped to teach Shibashi to all types of health groups.
